One of the most distinguishing sights of Halloween in North America is the carved pumpkin lighted from the inside, and people who love Halloween are always on the lookout for extreme, intricate, and unique pumpkin carvings.  Once upon a time, there were those of us who were happy to make triangle eyes, a triangle nose, and a simple smiley face – perhaps occasionally including scary teeth in the mouth.  But these days, pumpkin carvings are much more advanced and impressive than long ago.

What is most interesting about the modern pumpkin carvings is that most of them do not even require you to pierce the thick skin of the pumpkin.  All you need to do is trim the inside so that it is sheer and transparent.  After you have mastered that, the possibilities are endless for creations that are beyond your wildest dreams!

If you have a child under the age of 5, don’t worry because even they can make preschool Halloween crafts with you or in the classroom with adult supervision.  Just because your child is a preschooler does not mean they have to miss out on the fun of crafting.  You may be surprised at what they can do when you introduce them to preschool Halloween crafts – and crafts in general.  You are teaching them valuable lessons at an early age that will stay with them for a very long time.  If you want a few ideas, you can find them on the Internet, but we’re happy to offer up a couple preschool Halloween crafts for you to try.

Before we tell you about some great preschool Halloween crafts, we should remind you that these little guys (and gals) are still learning all sorts of things about what they can do with their two little hands.  Be patient with them and let their own creativity shine.  Their crafts won’t be perfect, and they shouldn’t be.  They should be their own creation that they can be proud of.  You may also want to make the craft you want them to make before hand or along with them so they have something they can mimic or follow along with.  So here’s the first of the preschool Halloween crafts we think is fun for your little one.

We LOVE edible Halloween crafts, and guess what - Halloween food crafts for kids are a big hit with the younger set too!  If you are having a Halloween party, nothing is more fun than letting them make their own Halloween food crafts for kids.  They are easy to make and tons of fun to eat.  There are all sorts of Halloween food crafts for kids you can let them make.  Here are a couple to get you started.

When kids are small, they often eat dirt – yes, it’s true – dirt.  How about constructing Halloween food crafts for kids that looks like they are eating dirt?  Start with a small plastic cup.  Place a scoop of chocolate ice cream in the bottom.  Then put some Oreos in a Zip-Loc baggie, seal it, and let your child smash the cookies into small bits.  Pour the cookie bits over the top of the ice cream and add some gummy worms.  Get a spoon and dig into your dirt!  YUMMY!

Making Halloween crafts is a fun way to get children involved in the holiday and making a ghost glove puppet is a really fun way to get them involved.  There are a few different ways you can go about making a ghost glove puppet.  Here are some of the ideas that we have come up with – of course, with the help of the Internet.

The first way we found to make a ghost glove puppet is to take a 12 inch square of white fabric or a white handkerchief, three rubber bands, and a black marker.  Hold your hand with the three middle fingers together and the little finger and thumb outstretched. Drape the white fabric square over your hand with one of the diagonals running along the top of your fingers. Fix one elastic band over the middle three fingers about where your knuckles are: this forms the ghost's head. Fix the second band over your thumb and the third over your little finger: these are the ghost's arms. Finally, draw a spooky face on your ghost and your ghost glove puppet is ready to go.
